The Sat ride today was huge...20 people??? what's up with that...It was also freakin hard. I always could tell when Karl hit the front cuz the speed would go from 26 to 29 (33mph on the newly paved section)...and stay there. I like the rides where it's not just double paceline all day...today when you hit the front you could drill it for how ever long you wanted. I did a hardish 2 hour ride yesterday so I wasn't feeling super today but overall I'm pretty fit for this time of year.

Exaggeration is not necessary; we were only 16 people, which—I think—is the best turnout for a Saturday ride this year.
Was it Karl who got on front on Cabin Creek and had us accelerating up that little hill right before Hopkins? If I had eaten anything at the G-mart, I think I would have tossed my cookies!
Now, that newly paved section (Chain Gang Rd) was a thing of beauty! We were going 30+, but it felt like 20.
Crusty and I were thinking of how that stretch of road could have be better and all we could come up with was at the end of the road: a swimming pool of cool water, alcoholic drinks and naked women.
Maybe a ramp at the the end that leads directly into the pool. Sprint for the sign and then just swerve, hit the ramp and fly into the pool...
